Cup Worthy Program
Help us reduce the waste and destruction caused by paper cup production by bringing your reusable travel mug for to-go beverage orders. We'll donate 20 cents to a local nonprofit every time you do!
Our current recipient is:
"Since its’ inception in 2009, OpenDoors of Asheville's mission has been steadfast, “to break the cycle of poverty through education, one child at a time.” Founded on a vision for a community where ALL children succeed, we believe that when students are appropriately resourced, inspired and respected, they become active, engaged, lifelong learners who are college and/or career ready.
OpenDoors Intensive programs support up to 50 local students through education, advocacy, enrichment activities and other summer programming to help eliminate learning loss. This includes our “To and Through” college program, which is designed to prepare students growing up in multigenerational poverty to enter and graduate college with little to no student debt. The program identifies students as early as middle school and accepts students who are already attending college, but struggling to remain enrolled.
Additionally, we provide necessary resources including but not limited to school supplies, uniforms, transportation, and housing needs so that each child has a stable foundation from which to grow. Currently, we also serve approx 15 additional middle school students through our One Neighborhood Arts programming and impact over 600 children through our classroom educator trainings."
