Why we can’t not get to Net Zero

Cecil Bothwell will discuss the reasons why and the ways we can become a net zero energy community.

Bothwell is a long-time advocate for solar and other green power and a member of Asheville’s City Council. He lived off-the-grid on solar for 22 years and today has a net-zero solar array on his total-electric home in Asheville. He was founding editor of the Warren Wilson College environmental journal Heartstone, managing editor of Asheville’s Mountain Xpress, instigator of Asheville’s Rolling Thunder Downhome Democracy event in 2003, and organizer of the ongoing conversation about a net-zero district in Asheville (AMAZED – Asheville Metro Area Zero Energy District). His other car is a canoe.
