Exploring barriers and benefits to sustainable commercial waste management in downtown Asheville
On June 24th, Lenoir-Rhyne University Sustainability Studies graduate student Alisha Goodman will be discussing her capstone project “Community based social marketing for sustainable materials management in Downtown Asheville.” In partnership with the City of Asheville’s Office of Sustainability, Alisha Goodman has been exploring the barriers and benefits to sustainable waste management practices by businesses in Downtown Asheville. The purpose of the project is to develop recommendations for the City to enhance its Zero Waste AVL Recycling program. This presentation will serve as a review of her findings thus far, as well as an opportunity for commercial stakeholders to offer feedback on strategy development.
